Beekeeping Industry Sues EPA for Approval of Bee-Killing Pesticide
First the farmers went after Monsanto for the GMO wheat issue. Now the bee keepers are going after the EPA for allowing the new, poorly tested pesticide Sulfoxaflor to be used. The bee populations have been in a drastic decline. Since 2006 an estimated 10 million hives have been lost. Many factors are at play here but many fingers are pointing to the new neonicotinoid class of pesticides. You would think with all of this outcry the EPA would be more careful, but the profits of DOW are looking more important than the well being of our planet, the future of our food, and the lives of these beekeepers.
